November 21,1996-On the planet of Aquitar:
.........."So when are you coming
back?" Tommy asked. His face loomed in the Aquation viewing globe.
..........Billy stood next to Cestria, Delphine
and Cestro. He turned quickly to face Cestria and then faced the globe
again. "Actually," he said looking momentarily down at his feet
"I'm not." He could see Adam looking at his other teammates in
shock.
.........."But, why?" he said. His
pale face was paler than Billy had ever seen it before.
..........Billy turned to Cestria. "I've
finally found someone that I can relate to." He said. His friends
smiled.
..........Rocky chimed in "I knew that
you would find the right one, but I didn't think that she would be from
another planet." Jason nodded.
..........Billy smiled. "Thanks guys.
You don't know how much this means to me."
.........."Congratulations Billy."
Kat said.
.........."Yeah, good luck." Tanya
said.
..........He nodded. "Bye guys."
He said.
.........."Hey," Tommy said "Don't
forget to write."
..........Billy laughed. "Don't worry.
I will." He said. "Bye guys."
.........."Bye Billy." They said
as the image on the viewing globe in the Power Chamber became a static
blur, flickered, then died.
December 5th 1996- On Aquitar:
.........."I'm glad that you
decided to stay." Cestria said. Her arm moved slowly along his back.
.........."Me too." He said, kissing
her. They sat on an Aquation couch, soft music playing in the background.
.........."What is Earth compared to
me?" she asked slyly. Her hands moved to behind his neck.
.........."Nothing," he said "Earth
is nothing. You are everything to me."
.........."Good." she said. She
moved closer and closer to him. Licking her lips she kissed him. The kiss
lasted a long time. She stopped.
..........Billy looked at her. "I love
you." he said.
.........."I love you always." Cestria
answered. "Forever and ever."
December 15th - STILL on Aquitar:
..........The under-water shuttle
that Billy drove sped through the water towards Cestria's home. He was
very excited. He had been called by the leader of Aquitar to help with
a pollution problem about a week earlier. He couldn't wait to see her.
The shuttle pulled into a water-proof chamber and he climbed out of the
of the water-craft. He walked up to the door.
..........Through the door he could hear soft
music. He stood there for a second, trying to confirm why Cestria was listening
to that kind of music. He searched his pocket for a key which he quickly
opened the door with. He didn't even have to open the door all the way
to see what was going on. Cestria and Tideus {yellow Alien Ranger} were
on the couch. Intertwined in each other's arms they were kissing. Billy
couldn't breathe. He quickly and quietly closed the door and ran for the
shuttle.
December 17th 1996 - ONCE AGAIN on Aquitar:
..........Billy clicked on the telecommunications
unit next to his bed. The transmission beam he sent was received in the
Power Chamber minutes later. Zordon's voice boomed into it "WHO IS
SENDING THE MESSAGE?" he asked. An image slowly began to appear on
the viewing globe. It was Billy.
.........."It's me." He replied.
The time delay not matching the timing of his voice.
.........."OH, HELLO BILLY. IS THERE
ANYTHING YOU NEED?"
.........."Nothing Zordon. I just wanted
to say hi. Are the others around?"
.........."NOT AT THE MOMENT. WOULD YOU
LIKE ME TO CONTACT THEM?"
.........."Sure Zordon." He said.
..........Alpha ran about the Chamber, he
pressed a few buttons on the Control Panel and six beams of colored light
entered. Their always benevolent leader Tommy stepped forward. "What's
the matter Zordon?" he asked. There was a worried look on his face.
.........."NOTHING IS WRONG," Zordon
said "JUST AN UNEXPECTED CALL FROM AN OLD FRIEND."
.........."HEY! I'm not THAT old. Billy
chimed in. The others turned to face the globe.
.........."Hey Billy! How have you been?"
asked Jason.
.........."Frankly, not so well."
He answered. He couldn't take his mind off what had happened the previous
evening.
.........."What do you mean?" Tanya
asked. Her face was full of concern.
.........."I think Cestria is cheating
on me." He said. The others looked at each other in dismay.
.........."No," Rocky said "She
seemed to be too nice a girl to do that sort of thing."
.........."Well explain her and Tideus
kissing on the couch. Is that not cheating?" he asked.
.........."TIDEUS!" they all gasped.
.........."YES TIDEUS." He answered.
His face was now a bright shade of red.
.........."I can't believe it."
Kat muttered "If I were you I would confront her about it."
.........."I don't know--" he said
.........."Come on Billy. You shouldn't
let her use you like that." Adam said.
..........Billy looked deep in thought. After
a long while he finally spoke. "You guys are right. I'll talk to her."
.........."Good going Billy." Tommy
said. "I knew you had it in you."
.........."Thanks guys. I'll call later.
O.K.?"
.........."O.K. Billy. Talk to you later."
Adam said. "Bye."
.........."Bye." They all said in
unison.
..........Billy switched off the telecommunications
unit and left. He was headed for Cestria's house.
December 17th 1996- Cestria's house on Aquitar:
..........Cestria was startled to
hear the key turn in the lock. She hoped it was Tideus. When Billy stepped
in through the door she was not impressed. In fact, she was a little, annoyed.
Despite all reasons above she put on her prettiest smile and greeted him.
"Hello Billy." She said.
.........."Cut the crap Cestria. We need
to talk."
.........."What are you talking about?
And what's with the attitude?"
.........."Cestria, you should know."
He replied. His face was turning a deep shade of red.
.........."Look, Billy. I have no idea
what you are talking about. Really." She said. She knew that he had
found out.
.........."OH YOU HAVE AN IDEA CESTRIA!!!"
he screamed.
.........."DON'T RAISE YOUR VOICE WITH
ME!!" she yelled back.
.........."SHUT UP!!!"
.........."I DON'T HAVE TO!!!" she
screamed. She picked up a glass jar and threw it. It narrowly missed Billy's
head.
.........."MAN! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!"
he yelled coarsely as he ducked from another jar.
.........."YOU!"
.........."ME??? WHAT DID I DO!"
.........."YOU CAME IN MY HOUSE! YOU
CAME TO AQUITAR! YOU WERE BORN!!!" she yelled.
..........Billy decided that he didn't want
any more jars thrown at his head. He calmed down. "Cestria, I need
to talk to you. Can you calm down please?"
.........."BILLY! YOU WERE THE ONE WHO
STARTED THIS MESS! YOU WERE THE ONE WHO WAS MAD AT ME!"
.........."I have a very good reason
to be."
.........."What is that?" she asked.
.........."Yesterday I unlocked the door
and saw you and-- {gulp} Tideus."
.........."Oh no." she whispered.
.........."Oh yes," he replied "And
I'm going home." With that he turned and ran out of the house.
..........Cestria called after him. "BILLY!
COME BACK!!!! COME BACK!!!" but it was too late. He had gotten an
interstellar space vehicle and was headed for Earth.
December 17th 1996, Somewhere between Saturn and Jupiter:
..........Billy switched on the communicator
that he had strapped to his wrist. "Zordon, come in." he said.
..........Within seconds the wizards voice
came in. "YES BILLY?"
.........."I'm on my way home."
He said.
.........."THAT IS GOOD NEWS. I'LL TELL
THE OTHERS SO THAT WE MAY PLAN FOR YOUR ARRIVAL. WHAT LOCATION ARE YOU
AT?"
.........."I'm between Saturn and Jupiter.
Approximately 3900 miles to the Asteroid belt. I should be home within
two hours."
.........."THANK YOU BILLY. HAVE A SAFE
TRIP. ZORDON OUT."
..........Billy switched off the communicator.
He was really depressed. He had been deeply in love with Cestria. And she
had thrown him out like yesterday's trash. It was then that he resolved
never to love again.
December 18th 1996 - Power Chamber:
.........."ALPHA," Zordon
called to the little robot "CONTACT THE OTHER RANGERS. BILLY IS ON
HIS WAY HOME."
.........."Aiyi-yi-yi-yi! I can't wait
to see him." Alpha said, waddling over to the control panel. He pressed
a few buttons and within seconds the rangers were in the command center.
Kat stepped forward.
.........."What is it Zordon?" she
asked "Did Billy call again?"
.........."ACTUALLY RANGERS, YES HE DID."
.........."What did he say?" said
Adam smiling.
..........Alpha clued the others in. "Rangers,
Billy called from an interstellar space craft. He is on his way home."
..........The rangers smiled at each other.
"Guess he told Cestria off, huh?" Tommy asked them.
.........."Must have." Rocky said.
..........Then suddenly Billy's voice boomed
into the Power Chamber. "Guys. I'm entering the Earth's atmosphere
now. I can't land by the chamber so meet me in the park." He said.
.........."O.K. Billy," Tommy said
"See ya there."
December 18th 1996- Machine Skybase:
..........Gaskett paced around the
room. His bride, Archerina at his side. "What is wrong darling?"
she asked.
.........."It's those pesky Rangers,
my love. I can't devise a plan were the don't get their little brainy friend
to help them foil. They contact him on Aquitar every single time there
is a problem and he always makes something to fix it!"
.........."Well I have a plan dearest."
She said.
.........."Yes, darling."
.........."Since you have been too busy
to notice, that brainy brat is entering the Earth's atmosphere. And he
is headed for Angel Grove Park. Why don't we send some cogs and a monster
down to Earth to kidnap him. Then we could put him under a spell and his
Brains AND his brawn would be ours."
.........."You know my love, that is
the most brilliant plan I have ever heard of. We did find another Zeo Crystal.
Why don't you go down and do the kidnapping. I'll recruit the cogs. We
MUST be there before the Rangers show up."
.........."Yes darling. Let us go now."
December 18th -Angel Grove Park:
..........The ship landed with no
problems. He opened the hatch and stepped out. No one was there. "Probably
JUST received my message." He said to himself as he put the cloaking
device on the vehicle. He heard a rustle of leaves behind him. He turned
quickly only to see Archerina. He gasped.
.........."COGS! BRING THE BOY TO ME!"
she screamed. Two dozen cogs materialized from mid-air and charged at the
former ranger. He screamed and ran. But it was far too late to run. The
cogs had surrounded him. Remembering his karate skills he landed a solid
flying kick to one of the cogs' heads. It toppled over and broke into small
pieces. He turned his body in a spinning kick and downed another Cog. But
the others surrounded him and grabbed his arms and legs. They began to
drag him over to Archerina. Suddenly the rangers appeared.
.........."OH NO! THEY HAVE BILLY!"
Tanya screamed.
.........."It's morphin' time!"
Tommy yelled.
.........."ZEO RANGER I! PINK!"
.........."ZEO RANGER II! YELLOW!"
.........."ZEO RANGER III! BLUE!"
.........."ZEO RANGER IV! GREEN!"
.........."ZEO RANGER V! RED!"
.........."GOLD RANGER POWER!"
..........The rangers suddenly materialized
in colored suits and helmets. "HEY COGS! PUT HIM DOWN!" Jason
yelled.
.........."Not on your life ran-ger."
A cog replied in a mechanical voice. The cogs tied Billy up with a rope
and handed him to Archerina. She laughed menacingly.
..........Billy squirmed in her arms. "LET
ME GO!" he screamed.
.........."I don't think so, Billy-boy.
We have big plans for you." she said. She was too busy admiring the
treasure that she held that she didn't hear the rangers destroying her
cog army. Nor did she hear Tommy come up behind her. In fact she didn't
even know that he was there until he knocked her to the ground with a flying
kick. Billy fell to the ground with a thud.
.........."TOMMY!" he yelled.
.........."I'M COMMING BUDDY!" Tommy
said. Tommy was suddenly tipped by Archerina as Gaskett appeared. He lifted
Billy up and when Archerina came to help him carry the load, teleported
off. "NOOOOOOOOOO!" Tommy screamed. The others surrounded him.
"IT WAS MY FAULT!" he said.
.........."Tommy," Kat said, trying
to soothe him "It wasn't your fault. Gaskett had planned it that way."
.........."Yeah bro," Jason said
"We'll get him back." They teleported to the Power Chamber.
December 19th 1996- Machine Skybase:
..........Billy was thrown on the
ground with a -thud-. "What should we do with him?" Archerina
asked.
.........."For now let us untie him and
put him in a cage." Gaskett answered.
..........Billy rolled over and said, "Excuse
me Prince Gaskett, may I ask exactly WHAT you are going to do with me?"
.........."That is strictly none of your
business," Gaskett answered "But if you really want to know we
are going to turn you evil and give you this." The evil prince held
up a silver Zeo Crystal.
.........."Do you think that I will succumb
to that type of evil!"
.........."Actually yes. We are going
to use your muscle power and your brain power to defeat those power brats!"
.........."NEVER!" Billy yelled.
He jumped out of the ropes. -Good thing I brought that pocket knife along-
he thought. But before he could run there was a sudden blast of light and
Billy was unconscious.
.........."Well?" Archerina said
a few hours later.
.........."We'll find out if the spell
worked when he wakes up." Gaskett answered.
..........Billy stirred. Lifting his head
he saw the silver suit that he wore. It highly resembled the Gold Ranger
Suit only white and silver. He felt the power surging through his body.
He stood. "What say you boy?" asked Gaskett.
.........."Prince Gaskett, I am ENTIRELY
at your service." Billy said.
..........Archerina squealed. "Oh Gaskett!
Let us send our Silver Ranger down to Earth!"
.........."A fine idea my love. Let us
do that." Gaskett paused. He turned to the silver clad teen "Silver
Ranger,"
.........."Yes sir."
.........."Go down to Earth and destroy
those bothersome Power Brats!"
.........."As you wish sir." Billy
said. In a flash of silver he teleported away.
December 19th 1996 - Power Chamber:
..........Tommy sat in front of the
viewing globe. Since what had happened the previous day he had not been
himself. Kat and the others tried to comfort him but it was no use. He
would not stop blaming it on himself. The alarms blared in the Chamber.
The teens turned to face the viewing globe.
.........."What is it this time?"
Rocky asked.
.........."I AM AFRAID THAT YOU WILL
NOT LIKE WHAT YOU HEAR." Zordon said frowning.
.........."AIYI-YI!" Alpha squealed.
.........."What is it Zordon?" Kat
asked.
.........."It looks like a silver Gold
Ranger." Jason said.
.........."ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN RANGERS,"
.........."I know! It does! How did Gaskett
and Archerina get hold of another Zeo Crystal?" Tanya asked.
.........."ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN."
.........."And who is that?" Adam
asked.
..........Zordon cleared his throat.
.........."Oh, Zordon. Sorry. Did you
have something that you wanted to say?" Kat asked.
..........Zordon had an irritated look on
his face. "AS I WAS SAYING-- THIS IS THE SILVER RANGER. THE CRYSTAL
WAS LOCATED ON THE MOON ITSELF. AND IT CAN ONLY BE GIVEN TO A HALF-BREED."
Zordon said.
.........."Half-breed?" Adam asked.
.........."HALF HUMAN, HALF ANIMAL."
Zordon replied.
.........."But how can that be? And who
IS that?" Kat asked the old wizard.
.........."IF THE MOTHER OR FATHER OF
A CHILD WAS TURNED INTO A HUMAN FROM AN ANIMAL THE CHILD IS A HALF-BREED.
AND THAT IS BILLY-- HE IS UNDER A SPELL."
.........."Billy, A half-breed."
Tommy breathed. "Well, if he's under a spell we better go stop him."
.........."Right!" The others said.
"IT'S MORPHIN' TIME!"
.........."ZEO RANGER I! PINK!"
.........."ZEO RANGER II! YELLOW!"
.........."ZEO RANGER III! BLUE!"
.........."ZEO RANGER IV! GREEN!"
.........."ZEO RANGER V! RED!"
.........."GOLD RANGER POWER!"
December 19th 1996 - Angel Grove Park:
..........The rangers teleported to
the park where Billy was standing. He ran to them. Tommy twisted in a spin
kick that knocked Billy to the ground.
.........."Tommy! Stop! It's me! Billy!
I'm not really under a spell!"
.........."How can we believe you?"
Tommy asked.
.........."Fine. I guess that you WANT
me to stay kidnapped. Well, suit yourself." Billy turned and walked
off in the other direction.
..........Tommy stared at him in disbelief.
"BILLY! COME BACK!" he called. The Silver Ranger turned to face
him and turned again. He kept walking. "BILLEEEEE!"
..........Billy turned again. Lifting up his
wrist he pressed a few buttons on his communicator and he teleported to
the Power Chamber.
.........."Oh no!" Kat screamed.
.........."What if he IS evil!"
Rocky exclaimed.
.........."Come on. We better get to
the Power Chamber right away." Tommy said.
.........."Right!"
December 19th 1996 - Power Chamber:
..........When the others got there
Alpha was scanning Billy with some strange device. He turned to face Zordon.
"The scanner says that he isn't evil Zordon."
.........."See! I told you!" Billy
said. He turned to face the other rangers. "I'm perfectly normal!"
.........."IT IS GOOD TO HAVE YOU BACK
BILLY." Zordon said to him.
.........."How did you escape?"
Tanya asked.
..........He explained what had happened.
"You see," he said " Gaskett knocked me out with a beam.
That beam was supposed to turn me evil. It didn't work. I faked unconsciousness.
Then I stood up and PRETENDED to be evil. I decided that I would escape
for home once I got to Earth."
..........They were surprised at how clever
he was in a time of crisis. Yet they were happy that he was back. Then
they though of the HALF-BREED thing. "Uh, Billy. We need to talk to
you about something." Tommy said.
.........."Like what?" he asked.
He looked hard at the other rangers.
.........."Do you know if your mother
or father is an animal?"
.........."Is that some kind of insult!?"
his face was already red.
.........."No! I mean a real animal.
Like a bird or a dog or something."
.........."I don't think that's possible."
He said and turned to Zordon.
.........."BILLY, ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN."
Zordon boomed.
.........."Please do."
.........."ONLY A HALF-BREED CAN POSES
THE POWER OF THE SILVER RANGER."
.........."Half-breed?"
..........Adam stepped in. "Part human,
part animal."
.........."That's sick."
.........."You don't understand. You
see, one parent is an animal turned into a human by a spell."
.........."Oh! But what does that have
to do with me. I'm not a half-breed."
.........."YOU MUST BE. AS I SAID, ONLY
HALF-BREEDS CAN POSES THE POWER OF THE SILVER RANGER."
..........Billy was speechless. "B-but
maybe th-there's been some type of m-mistake?" he stuttered. The helmet
that he was holding clattered to the floor.
.........."NO MISTAKE BILLY." The
old wizard replied.
..........Billy sunk down to his knees. "Do
you have any proof for what you claim?" he asked. The others noticed
that he was using his techno-speak again and that they had to calm him
down.
.........."Billy, calm down." Jason
said. "You're becoming a geek again." Billy was trembling.
.........."BILLY, WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO
LOOK INTO YOUR PARENTS' PAST?"
.........."Yes." He said. His friends
surrounded him. The viewing globe lit up. The image that appeared was that
of a hospital.
.........."THIS IS YOUR FATHER'S PAST."
Zordon said. "HE IS A HUMAN."
..........Billy stared at the tiny baby that
his now young grandmother held in her arms.
.........."Wow." He whispered. "That's
my dad."
.........."YES. NOW FOR YOUR MOTHER'S."
..........The image that appeared on the globe
surprised everyone. There on the screen was a wolf cub. Female. Billy found
it difficult to breathe. "Is that-- my mom?" he asked.
.........."IT APPEARS TO BE."
.........."Can we go to when she was
turned into a human?" he said in a shaky voice.
.........."OF COURSE."
..........The scene that appeared was in the
middle of Angel Grove Forest. A beautiful gray wolf stood in the middle
of the path. The weather was bad. Heavy rain, thunder and lightning. The
wolf was looking for shelter. A motorcycle could be heard in the distance.
A sudden flash of lightning hit the wolf. The glow was so bright that the
rangers had to cover their eyes. When it cleared there was a woman in the
path. Billy's mother. The motorcycle stopped an in front of her and the
man on it got off and ran to her.
"Are you all right? I mean the lightning. Did you get hit?" the
man said.
.........."I-- I'm fine." She said.
.........."You're soaking wet! Come on--
I'll take you to my cabin." He took off his jacket and draped it over
her shoulders. They both climbed onto the motorcycle and went to the man's
cabin.
.........."I can't believe this."
Billy said under his breath. The others nodded their heads in agreement.
Billy turned away from the screen. There was a deep laugh coming from his
throat.
.........."What?" Tommy asked.
.........."I always wondered why my mom
couldn't cook." He said.
Five days later, At Billy's house:
..........Billy was depressed. No,
no. Not depressed, he was depressed. His friends tried to comfort
him, but it wasn't working. And his father had no earthly idea what was
going on. He tried to help Billy as well but it too didn't work. There
were a lot of things Hank Cranston didn't know about his son, especially
his love life. So he kept his distance. He and Billy had never been especially
close. Even after Racheal had died.
..........He could still remember the day
when he had met her. He had a cabin up in the forest. It was storming and
he was riding his motorcycle through the blinding rain. All of a sudden
there was a flash. It looked as if the lightning had struck something.
As he got closer and closer he realized that it was a young woman. Climbing
off the motorcycle, Hank ran to her.
..........The questions he asked were basic.
"Are you okay? Did you get hit?" and he brought her to his cabin.
There she explained that she had been raised by wolves and that her name
was Racheal. He fell for her instantly. She lived with him for a long time,
and they were soon married. A year later they were blessed with a baby.
Name: William James Cranston. As time went on they discovered that their
child was a genius, a prodigy. They sent him to all these special schools
and programs. They had to take him out of them when it happened.
..........It seemed like only yesterday to
Hank but it had been nearly a decade. Billy and his mother had gone out
on a shopping trip. They stopped into many stores. Of one, the stopped
into a 7-eleven for some candy. With candy bought they left. There was
such a commotion coming from the middle of the street. People were fleeing
in terror. A rabid dog was running around wildly. When it saw no one else
it turned to the boy and his mother. It charged towards them. Billy darted
out of the way, screaming. But it was too late for Racheal to run. The
dog chewed her up like one of those chew-toys.
..........The owner of the 7-eleven called
an ambulance and the local animal control. The dog was soon dead and they
took the woman off to the hospital. But when they got there it was too
late. She had died of her wounds and the fatal disease that was traveling
through her body. Hank would never forget that day.
..........Being Christmas eve, Hank decided
to give Billy his present. They had exchanged gifts earlier, a new computer
for Billy and The entire RAMA series by Arthur C. Clarke for Hank, but
now that Billy had his friends over he wanted to give him his other gift.
..........Hank entered the living room were
they sat. "Hi, Dad." Billy said.
.........."Hi Billy," he said "Hi
everyone."
.........."Hi Mr. Cranston." Tommy
said. The older man took a seat on the couch next to his son. A small package
in his hand.
.........."I'm glad you are all here,"
he said "I have a Christmas present for you." He handed it to
Billy who opened it slowly. He was surprised to see two small packages.
A tiny jewelry box and a booklet of plane tickets to Nome, Alaska.
.........."Open the jewelry box,"
Hank said "I know you are not a girl but your mother told me that
if anything ever happened to her to give it to you." His words were
choked. Billy opened the little box. It was a necklace pendant. A silver
wolf with shining sapphire eyes. It was on a choker like piece of leather,
like the one that Native Americans wear.
.........."It used to belong to your
mother." Hank said. "And those plane tickets are for you and
your friends to go to Nome for a vacation. And don't worry everyone. I've
already asked your parents and they all said it was O.K. You leave in two
days."
.........."What about school?" Rocky
asked
.........."Don't worry about that either.
I told them that it was an educational trip. And if you didn't already
notice, along with the tickets there is three thousand dollars that I and
all of your parents collected for your trip. You'll be there for a month
and the tickets are round-way. That way you wont be stuck having to buy
more tickets." Billy threw his arms around his father. A broad smile
was on his face, for the first time since he had gotten home.
.........."Thanks dad." He said.
.........."You're welcome. Now I have
some work I need to be doing and some new books I need to read. See ya'll
around." With that Billy's father left the room. Billy studied the
jewelry.
.........."It's just like Indian jewelry."
Tommy said matter-of-factly.
.........."It does." He answered.
.........."Why don't you put it on?"
Kat asked.
.........."I haven't had time yet."
He replied and put the leather band around his neck.
.........."It's like a choker."
Tanya said.
..........Tommy gave her a weird look. "Of
course it does. It's supposed to look like that."
.........."I didn't know that,"
she said "It goes great with your tan Billy."
..........Indeed it did. It made him look
very sophisticated. They all sat in silence. Then Jason suddenly blurted
out, "We are going to Nome, Alaska. Without our parents." The
others sat thinking.
.........."COOL!" They all said.
..........The following two days were chaos.
First of all Zordon wasn't sure that he should let them go. YOU CAN NEVER
BE TOO CAREFUL NOW THAT RITA AND ZEDD ARE BACK he said. Nonetheless, the
Rangers convinced him that they would come if there were any problems.
..........Then there was the packing. People
who live in southern California really don't have a lot of winter gear.
Snow boots, heavy coats, skis, stuff like that. So they had to go shopping.
..........The guys, knowing how the girls
were, weren't very happy to see them buying out the entire store. They
didn't have enough money for that. They practically had to force them to
buy only what they needed. Of course they refused and the guys bought their
stuff and dragged them out of the store.
..........And then there was traffic on the
way to the airport. Rocky's parents had volunteered to take them in their
van. The traffic was jammed from Angel Grove to the airport, NEARLY 50
MILES AWAY! It took them two hours just to get out of town. Another two,
and they were at the airport. When they got there they weren't surprised
to find out that their plane had left an hour earlier. They had to catch
another flight at midnight. So they waited and waited. Finally, they boarded
the plane.
..........The last problem that occurred was
probably just Billy's problem. He found himself stuck between a rock and
a hard place. There was a fat guy next to him. He was asleep and it looked
like that drool on his chin was about to drop onto Billy's shoulder. And
the worst part of it was Billy was by the window, and he had to go-- BAD.
So he had to hold it through the whole trip. He was relieved when they
got to the airport. He ran to the nearest men's room.
.........."Wonder what's wrong with him?"
Kat asked. Tommy nudged her shoulder. "It's a guy thing."
That same day, At Rita and Zedd's newly rebuilt castle:
.........."Oh, Zeddy... I'm bored."
Rita mused.
..........Zedd began whispering. "Darn
woman.... Can she ever keep her mouth shut?"
.........."Whadidya say Zeddy?"
.........."Nothing cupcake."
.........."Okay" she said.
..........Zedd stood up slowly and approached
his wife. "Now what do you want to do?" he asked. He knew full
well what she was going to say. And it bothered him. Ever since their return
they hadn't been paying much attention to the rangers. They had no idea
what was going on.
.........."I wanna destroy the Power
Rangers." She said.
..........Zedd turned and stormed off. "Darn
woman. Doesn't she know anything?" he scowled. Just that moment Rito
and Goldar ran into the room.
.........."Hey Ed!" Rito screamed.
"Since ya haven't been taking the time out to check what the Power
Rangers are doin', we took the liberty of doing it for ya!" The skeleton
pointed at Goldar.
.........."Yeah boss." Goldar replied.
..........Zedd looked irritated. "Darn
that brother in law, darn that gold monkey! Can't they let me do things
for myself?" he muttered as he turned to face them. "What did
you find out?"
..........Rito looked mischievously at Goldar
who smiled wickedly. "That's for us to know and you not to find out."
Rito said.
.........."Yeah! You always make us do
what you want us to do. And what do we get... NOTHING!"
.........."So we're getting our pay back
now Fred! See ya!" With that they teleported off.
Volume 2 A week later, at the hotel:
..........Billy sat near the window
and stared out at the full moon above him. He was alone in the room. The
others had gone out for the evening. Quiet enveloped him as he looked up
into the sky. Not a sound could be heard.
..........Billy had been feeling strange ever
since they had arrived in Alaska. It seemed as if his senses had become
sharper and more complex and he had been having these unexplainable cravings
for raw meat... and blood. He didn't understand them and couldn't control
them. That is why he had stayed in the room. He was having a craving and
probably would have killed a person and ate them whole if he had gone.
..........There was a sudden noise from outside.
Billy stood up and walked out the door. The cold causing him to shiver.
It happened again... this time the howl was louder. Billy unconsciously
stepped forward, through his head up and answered the call.
..........Without even noticing what he had
done he listened for a reply. When it came he ran towards the sound. Panting
loudly he neared the wolf. It came up to him, stiffing inquisitively, then
accepted him as if Billy was one of his pack. There were muffled cries
from the other members of the pack as they tangled with a bear nearby.
The howl must have been a cry for help.
..........Billy leapt forward and grasped
the bear with his hands. His nails formed into claws, his teeth to fangs.
He fought with the pack, snarling, grunting, howling. Soon the bear was
down and the pack was making good use of it. They enjoyed the feast. All
were satisfied.
..........Including Billy.
..........Billy finished his meal and went
back to the room. Blood covering his face, hands and clothes he entered,
not realizing that the others were back. When he spotted them he growled
and pounced on Tommy, who was screaming frantically. Rocky Jason and Adam
pulled him of. Billy slashed at them with his claws, tried everything in
his power to rid himself of this bond. But before he could, Tommy slapped
him in the face and he snapped back into reality.
.........."I... I... What happened?"
Billy pleaded, slumping down onto the floor. The others looked at each
other, not knowing what to say.
..........After a long silence Adam spoke.
"Nothing, Billy. It's all a bad dream. Now go get yourself cleaned
up and settle down. Okay?" he said.
..........Billy groaned and pulled himself
up off the floor. "All right." He said. And that was how it ended.

3 weeks later:
..........Billy's little instances
continued all through the week. No one knew what was causing them. Zordon
had scanned him and there were no traces of any spells or potions. Nobody
could control it. They didn't know how. All they knew is that it was getting
worse.
..........By now Goldar and Rito had already
conquered Rita and Zedd and were looking for a bigger challenge. They had
sent several monsters of their own and during each battle, Billy went insane.
They were taking this to their advantage.
..........Now we can't forget about Gaskett
and Archerina can we. They were chased off... but not gone for good. Why
would they forget about their Silver Ranger. So they were back on
Earth and plotting another plan to get Billy under their control.
In the Power Chamber:
..........Zordon scanned over Billy
once more. And once more he showed nothing abnormal. This worried him.
ALPHA, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO. BILLY'S CONDITION IS WORSENING AND WE HAVE
NO IDEA WHAT IS CAUSING IT!
.........."Aiyi-yi Zordon. I don't know."
..........Billy sat there. He stared up at
Zordon sadly. "Is there noth...ing. I... AHHHHHHH!" Billy began
to scream. Once more he turned savage.
..........Alpha ran in terror and Zordon did
all he could. He looked down. There he found a clue. The wolf medallion
he wore. They sapphire eyes were pulsating. Zordon called to Alpha. ALPHA!
THE MEDALLION! GRAB IT FROM AROUND HIS NECK!
..........Billy was clawing up the control
panels, slashing and snarling. Alpha ran up behind him and grabbed the
medallion of his neck. Billy fell into a heap on the floor.
Hours later:
..........Alpha ran a series of tests
on it and found there was a power source within it. It was a good source,
but if used improperly dangerous results would take hold. Alpha tried to
access the source but found that it wouldn't work unless it was worn by
Billy. Another thing he found was an essence. The essence of a female,
a wolf. To be exact, Billy's mother. Minutes later he had it all figured
out.
..........It contained a power and an essence.
The power within it pushed the essence of the wolf into Billy, who did
not know how to control it. The way to control it was mentally, and if
Billy had known, he would have been able to use this power to his advantage.
..........That was precisely what Alpha told
Billy and the other rangers. There was one catch though. They didn't know
exactly what it could do and what the results would be. Billy said that
it was a risk he was willing to take. Now with the power to control himself,
Billy and the others returned to Alaska.
A week later:
.........."Hey Goldie! Let's
do somethin' fun!"
.........."Like what?"
.........."Well, I don't know yet. Help
me come up with somethin' will ya!"
..........Goldar shook his head. He couldn't
believe how dense Rito was.
.........."Oh! Come on!"
.........."Leave me alone Rito! I'm trying
to come up with a plan to destroy that cursed Silver Ranger!"
.........."Oooh! Goodie goodie! Sounds
like fun. Let's do it!"
.........."Okay!" he said and they
teleported off.
Same day:
.........."Darling Gaskett! I
have a plan to get our Silver Ranger back!" she squealed.
.........."What is it my love?"
.........."Let's kidnap his father and
hold him for Ransom!"
.........."An excellent idea! I'm glad
I thought of it!"
.........."But dearest..."
.........."Come on... let us go at once."
..........They soon arrived at Billy's house
to find Hank Cranston sitting at his desk. They sneaked quietly behind
him and grabbed him. His muffled cries could be heard into the night as
they teleported to Alaska.
In Alaska:
..........Billy now had complete control
over his emotions. So when his communicator beeped he was ready for action.
"IT'S MORPHIN' TIME!"
.........."ZEO RANGER I, PINK!"
.........."ZEO RANGER II, YELLOW!"
.........."ZEO RANGER III, BLUE!"
.........."ZEO RANGER IV, GREEN!"
.........."ZEO RANGER V, RED!"
.........."SILVER RANGER POWER!"
..........In seconds they arrived. They were
in the barren tundra. Two groups of villains surrounded them. Rito and
Goldar on one side, Archerina and Gaskett on another. And it was then when
Billy noticed that Archerina and Gaskett had his father.
..........They laughed at him maniacally.
"Come and get your precious daddy-waddy." Archerina taunted.
..........Billy ran to her. Rito and Goldar
laughed as well and set their own trap. Soon the other Rangers were trapped
in an electric force field. Billy gasped and stumbled backwards. How could
he possibly choose between his father and his friends. The two groups laughed
and laughed. The world began to spin. Faster and Faster. A howl rang in
Billy's ears. The laughing continued.
..........All of a sudden a voice within him
spoke. It was the voice of his mother. Use the power. Let your inner
wolf take you. You may never see your father or friends again but you can
only save them by doing so. Let it take you.
.........."Mom! I...." he stopped.
He knew she was right. He knew what he had to do. Throwing his head up
he went into a long deep howl. The spinning stopped. The laughing stopped.
A Silver light shot up from the ground. Forming a circle around him. The
force field opened and Gaskett released his father who retreated. No one
could see Billy. The howl continued. Then slowly, the light died down and
standing in Billy's place was a Silver wolf. It attacked the two forces
who soon retreated. All was well.
Epilogue ..........Billy went on to live with
the wolves. He did promise however that he would come if they needed help.
..........The situation was explained to his
father who had known all along that his wife was a wolf.
..........His friends went on with their lives
but they knew that even though Billy was gone... he would be back.
..........Someday.
