One Last Call

He sets down the phone,
shocked by the answer he recieved.
The love of his life no longer is.
She said she had feelings for another,
his best friend.
He just can`t believe!
He feels the tears well up,
and tries to hold them back.
He places the letter she sent
back in the envelope.
He tosses it in the can
and sinks down on his bed.
he picks up the phone to make
one last call.
