The End: The Beginning
By BAP

Liz glanced at her watch. If Adam and Rocky didn't show up in the next five minutes she would leave without them. Where could they be?

"Sorry we're late," said a huffing voice from behind her. She turned to see Adam and Rocky out of breath. Liz smiled. Those two were sure strange.

"Well finally. C'mon. I want to find out what this meeting is about."

"Probably new rules," Rocky mumbled.

"Yeah," agreed Adam.

"Ahhh lets just get this over with." The three walked into the school auditorium and found seats next to Tommy, Kat, and Tanya. None of them knew what was going on and just shrugged it off as a new rule of some sort.

"Ahem!" Mr. Kaplan cleared his throat as he walked up on stage. "As you all know, our last fundraiser was a huge success. I n fact we got much more money than needed. So in saying thank you, the staff and I have decided to...."

"Here we go," whispered Rocky.

"We have decided to take all of AGH to Paris. It was thought of by our wonderful history teacher who is teaching students about France. "

Everyone was silent for a moment before cheering. And boy did everyone cheer, especially the rangers. They were going to Paris!

* * *

"Bonjour France," exclaimed Rocky. "If I'd known that the babes here were so hot, I'd've come here years ago." Jason nudged him in the ribs, smiling. They were officially in Paris and Rocky was having fun. Well, actually all the guys were drooling. Kat and Liz even had to nudge Tommy and Adam a few times.

"This is so cool," cried Tanya. "We're in a different country, different people and...."

"NO SCHOOL," Liz finished. Adam smiled. He was very proud of Liz. She was sweet, friendly, not to mention hyper.

"Hello. My name is Maria." Everyone looked to see who the speaker was and saw a very beautiful girl. She was French, it was obvious by her accent. She had long brown hair and beautiful brown eyes. She wore a navy mini skirt and a white blouse. Her hair was tied back with a sky blue scrunchy, showing small gold hoop earrings. Everyone was looking at her, either paying attention or drooling. Jason though seemed mesmerized.

"I will be your guide consultant," she continued. "And I will also lead the tours. You may sign up for as many tours as you like, but it's your responsibility to show up. We will not wait. If you have any questions you may ask me or one of your teachers. You will find not everyone speaks English here." She stepped down from the podium and Mr. Kaplan started to hand out luggage and room numbers. The rangers lost each other in the crowds for a moment but soon found one another and began to compare room numbers. Adam and Rocky were sharing a room, Kat and Tanya were together, and Jason and Tommy had the same room. The only one left out was Liz who seemed very disappointed over her roommate.

"I have to share a room with Jade!"

"What's wrong with that," asked Tommy. Liz pointed at a girl with very long hair and glasses. She seemed to be the shop-till-ya-drop type and it was a known fact that Liz hated to shop.

Kat picked up her bags and gave Liz a thumbs up sign, Tanya following behind her. Adam and Rocky gathered their stuff and told Liz she would be fine. Tommy and Jason had gone over to talk to Maria about the tours. Mainly though Jason just wanted to talk to her.

* * *

Rocky stared at her picture. She was so pretty, so much like him. Beautiful, caring, hyper. She made his heart soar. There was just one problem....

"Well, I'm unpacked," stated Adam walking in from the small hallway. "How 'bout you?"

Rocky quickly slid Liz's picture under his pillow and nodded to Adam. If his friend ever caught him gushing over Liz he would be devastated. He'd gone out with lots of girls, but when Adam found a girl without being set up it was miraculous. And Adam really loved Liz. But then again he did too.

"Rocky are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm just a bit tired that's all." Adam shook his head and walked into the bathroom. Rocky was hiding something. He could tell.

* * *

"And like it was so fun because at the mall I found the perfect outfit to match my shoes and then I found these new shoes that were even cooler than the first so I had to go out and get a new dress...."

Liz yawned. Jade could be so boring sometimes. Always actually. And just think, one whole week rooming with a complete bore.

"So I said so what and he went like completely nuts on me and said he would like never go out with me again so...."

"I'm... uh... going to see Kat and Tanya now, okay? See you later." Liz quickly zipped out the door and headed for Kat and Tanya's room, silently praying that the two hadn't gone out.

"C'mon in," yelled Kat from inside the room. Liz quickly slid in and plopped down on Tanya's bed. She sighed and pretended to cry.

"Things aren't going well with Jade huh?"

"Terrible. She just keeps talking and talking and talking. She's like the energizer bunny. She keeps going and going and going."

"Well, we're going shopping now. Want to join us?" asked Tanya. "Sure. I want to be anywhere but here. Please take me with you!"

"C'mon then. We have a lot to see in only seven days."

"Yeah. Only one week to see every shop in Paris!" Liz groaned. She hated to shop but she would do anything to get away from Jade. Anything.

* * *

"This is great," exclaimed Tommy. "We're in Paris! Man, Kat and I are going to have a fun time. Jason? Jason are you okay?"

"Huh?" Jason looked up from his suitcase. He'd been off in LaLa land dreaming about Maria. She was so beautiful, he just couldn't keep his mind off of her.

"Jason are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just thinking that's all."

"'Bout what?"

"Nothing."

"C'mon tell me. I'm your best friend. You can tell me anything."

"Well..." Jason hesitated. Tommy was his best friend. Maybe he would understand. "I kinda have a crush on this girl. "

"What girl?"

"Swear not to tell?"

"Swear."

"All right." Jason let out a long sigh. "Maria."

"You like her?"

"Yeah. She's pretty, wonderful, and seems really nice. I really don't know why but I really like her."

"So ask her out."

"I don't know." Jason fell back onto his bed. At least Tommy hadn't laughed at him. But then again, Tommy wouldn't laugh at anyone. Especially his best friend.

"Hey, just go for it. The worst you can get is a maybe."

"What about a no?"

"C'mon Jase. Why would she say no to a good looking guy like you?"

"Because of Emily back at home." Tommy bit his lower lip. Jason had a big problem. He couldn't go out with Maria until he settled things with Emily and the last thing he would recommend was to break up by letter.

* * *

Kat spotted Adam by the hotel doors. "Hey! Lets ask Adam if he wants to come with us. He looks pretty lonely."

"Yeah!" agreed Tanya. Liz nodded her head yes and the group walked over to him. He seemed surprised by their presence.

"Hi guys. Whatcha doing here?"

"We're going shopping. Want to join us?"

Adam thought for a moment. He didn't have any other plans and Rocky wasn't in a mood to have fun. "Uh sure, I guess. Liz, you're going too?"

"Yeah. Anything to get away from Jade."

"Things going bad huh?" Liz nodded and pretended to gag. Adam smiled. He couldn't wait to hit the streets of Paris. Especially with Liz.

* * *

"Jase it isn't that bad," said Tommy.

"Maybe not to you. What about Emily? I can't go out with two girls at the same time. It's not right. "

"You're right about that. Why don't you just tell Maria that you like her but you have a girlfriend back at home. "

"I can't do that. I still like Emily." Tommy sighed and tried to think. Jason was his friend and he had to help him. But what could he do?

"Maybe I should just give up on girls."

"Don't bro. You just have to chose who is more important to you."

"Easy for you to say."

Tommy paused. He had an idea that would take his mind off Maria. "Lets go for a walk. Talk things out. Maybe we can figure something out. " Jason nodded in agreement, although he wasn't too sure. Only he could make the decision but it was going to be a hard one.

* * *

"Look at them," laughed Lena, empress of the silver power. "Just mere children. I thought Zordon would be much wiser now."

"They don't look so powerful," cried Catalina, one of Lena's three daughters. "Let me take them down please."

"I should go," Sheba shouted. "I'm the oldest and mother's favorite."

"Are not!" Angora argued back.

"Stop it!" cried Lena. She looked out at the planet earth again. How she wanted to kill that Zordon and his rangers. Especially the one called Elizabeth. She was the one that held the silver powers. The power that rightfully belonged to herself. How she hated Zordon for taking her power away.

"So mother what do we do?"

"I don't really know. We'll wait until the rangers are vulnerable to an attack and then we'll make them pay."

* * *

"Where in the world did you go?" asked Rocky. "I went out with the girls. We saw every shop down main street." Adam answered. "Tomorrow we tackle the west side. So what did you do all day?"

"Ahh just laid around. Vacations are supposed to be relaxing, right?"

"Why don't you come with us tomorrow? We had fun today and we wouldn't mind you coming along."

"No thanks."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah." Rocky sighed. The last thing he wanted was to face Liz and Adam together.

"Rocky, something is wrong."

"Nothing is wrong! Just leave me alone, okay?" Rocky sighed out of frustration. Adam could be so pushy sometimes. Or was it just him. Maybe he was so jealous of Adam that he was getting angry at his long time friend.

* * *

"It was such a fun day," sighed Kat. She walked out of the bathroom, towel drying her hair. "I hope we can do it again tomorrow."

"Yeah," agreed Tanya, "and I hope Liz can come. She seemed to have a lot of fun today."

"The only reason Liz had fun was because Adam was there. Did you see the way they were looking at each other?"

"Well, maybe, but she still had fun. Besides Adam's coming along again."

"I wish Tommy could come." She sighed. "We haven't spent to much time together the past few days. "

"Why isn't he coming?"

"Something about Jason being caught in the middle. I don't really know." Tanya sighed and went back to her book. Everyone seemed to be having a problem. Liz with Jade, Rocky was acting weird, Adam was worried about Rocky, Jason was in the middle of something. This vacation wasn't turning out to be so hot.

Kat suddenly ran out of the bathroom, delight written on her face. "I have the perfect idea! Why don't Tommy, Adam, Liz, and I go to dinner tonight It would lighten us up a bit."

"What about Rocky?"

"You could go with him. You don't mind do you?"

"Nope. Anything to get him out of that mood of his." Kat squealed and picked up the phone. Tanya shook back a feeling of uneasiness. After all, what could happen?

* * *

"Ready to go?" asked Kat.

"I guess," answered Tommy in a shallow voice. He was still thinking about Jason and what he could do.

"Is Rocky coming?"

Adam looked around, as if expecting Rocky to jump out of nowhere. "Uh...I don't know. He said he'd think about it. I don't really know."

"Oh I'll go get him," said Liz. "He can't stay in that room all day. You guys wait for me down in the lobby. I'll be right back." She hurried down the hallway to his room. She herself was wondering why Rocky was acting so strange. He seemed so unlike himself lately

Liz knocked on the door. Rocky slowly opened the door. "Oh hi Liz. Whatcha doing here?"

"We were wondering whether you're coming with us. There is always room for one more. C'mon."

"I... don't... know. "

Liz walked into the room. She was a bit disgusted by the way it looked but if there was one thing she'd learned about guys it was that they were pigs. "Rocky, you haven't been yourself lately. What's wrong?"

Rocky sighed. Liz suddenly got worried. Rocky had a look on his face that she'd seen before. "This is what's wrong." He leaned close to her face and kissed her, right on the lips. He loved her.

"Liz I really like you. You don't have to feel... Liz? Liz?" He looked at her confused. She was staring at the doorway. He didn't understand, but Liz did. She was staring into Adam's dark brown eyes, welling up with tears. Quickly, he ran out of the room. Liz ran after him, leaving Rocky by himself.

Liz ran through the hallway, trying to catch up with Adam. "Adam! Adam, listen to me!" He didn't respond. He was heartbroken.

* * *

Kat tapped her foot impatiently. She had sent Adam up five minutes ago to get Liz and now they both were gone.

"Maybe they're trying to convince Rocky to come along," offered Tommy. No one answered him.

Suddenly Adam walked past them without a word, Liz following close behind, still calling his name. Tanya bit her lower lip and Kat had a look of embarrassment on her face. Tommy just sighed. "Maybe we should go on without them.

"Yes, maybe we should," agreed Kat. The three walked into the dining room all thinking that they had the worst luck with vacations.

* * *

"Adam! Adam Park listen to me!"

Adam turned around. A drizzling rain had begun, hiding his tears. "What?! Why should listen to you? I came up to get you guys and I see my girl friend kissing my best friend. Case closed!" He turned around again and stomped off.

"Adam!Adam come on it isn't my fault." Her voice turned to a whisper. "It isn't my fault." She slumped up against a building, sobbing to herself. It wasn't her fault or Rocky's. Well, maybe Rocky's but not hers. She didn't like Rocky. Adam was the only one for her. The only one.

* * *

"Perfect," cried Lena. "The silver ranger is vulnerable at this point. We can easily retrieve her powers and take over the world."

"What do you mean mother?" asked Catalina. "She had a fight with the green ranger. My plan can unfold perfectly now. If only I had cogs like Mondo though."

"Maybe you can mother," said Sheba. "What if we go to the machine Skybase and reprogram the cogs. We could get rid of Mondo in the process."

"That's a dumb idea!" yelled Angora. "Mondo isn't stupid. He could sense us miles away. What about that, huh?"

"A good idea Sheba," Lena said quietly, deep in thought. "True Mondo could sense us but only if we were teleporting. I have another way to get there. It is slower but it still goes rather fast."

"What?"

Lena whistled and almost immediately a huge eagle flew by. She was a silver color with huge talons. A chain on her neck proved that she was in captivity and the look on her face showed she wasn't happy. "Now come children or we shall never get there. Soon the silver powers will be mine." The eagle gave out a pitiful caw as the four climbed up her humongous wings. She then took off.

They had only been flying for about twenty minutes before the usual car slogans were heard.

"Are we there yet?"

"Shut up Catalina! We aren't even out of our galaxy yet! Now quiet. I have a plan on how to get rid of Mondo but you all must cooperate. Now here is the plan."

* * *

"This is perfect," cried Mondo. "Silver ranger is at a weak mind point. She will be easy to destroy this time. And without her the other rangers will fail."

"What a wonderful idea, my dear. What monster will you send?"

"May I make a suggestion sir?" asked Klank. "If it's a good one."

"How about the twister sir. It can cause a lot of damage."

"A wonderful idea! Nothing can stop us now." Mondo, Machina, and Sprocket all started laughing.

"Wrong Mondo," a voice said. "I can stop you."

Surprised, he turned to see Lena, empress of the silver powers.

"Why Lena," he started in a bittersweet tone, "You finally got free."

"Of course I got free," she snapped back. "I want my powers back so I am going to destroy Zordon and his little ranger friends."

"Hands off Lena! The rangers are mine!"

"No it's claws off Mondo. You never seem to remember that I have claws. Anyway, I realized that the rangers are yours so I came to change your mind."

"And how, may I ask, will you do that?"

"Like so." Lena smiled as she saw the machines fall forward, totally inoperable. Her three children popped up from behind them showing broken wires in their claws. "Oh, I am such a genius it scares me. Now go reprogram the cogs. We might not need them after all, considering how weak the rangers are compared to me, but at least they can serve me. That silver ranger is as good as gone."

* * *

Liz sobbed her heart out. It wasn't fair. It just wasn't fair. It wasn't her fault at all. Why do things like this always happen to me. I'm either fighting someone or getting myself killed. Why me?

Suddenly Liz heard her communicator go off. Great. I do not feel like going into battle right now. Sighing, she reluctantly answered the call. "Liz here. What's up Zordon?"

"Ai-yi-yi! Elizabeth, we have an emergency here," cried Alpha. "Teleport here immediately!"

"Alright. I'll be there in a sec. " She stood up and looked around. No one was in sight. Quickly she teleported to the power chamber.

"Great, " exclaimed Billy as she teleported in. "At least six of you are here."

"I thought there were seven of us?"

"Adam isn't answering his communicator," Alpha explained.

RANGERS, boomed Zordon, I'M AFRAID WE HAVE A PRESSING PROBLEM FAR WORSE THAN IVAN OOZE. HER NAME IS LENA, EMPRESS OF THE SILVER POWERS.

"Empress of the silver powers?" asked Tommy.

YES. LONG AGO, ANIMALS AND PEOPLE LIVED TOGETHER. THE RANGERS WERE ALL HUMAN EXCEPT FOR THE SILVER RANGER WHO WAS A CAT. SHE WASN'T JUST ANY CAT THOUGH, SHE WAS A CROSSOVER OF A SIAMESE, CHEETAH, AND JAGUAR. BECAUSE OF THIS, SHE HAD BEAUTY, SPEED, AND STRENGTH. THE OTHER RANGERS ALL ADORED HER AND SHE WAS VERY POWERFUL. BUT SOON SHE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THIS POWER AND USED IT FOR HER OWN GOOD. I WAS FORCED TO STRIP HER OF HER POWERS AND GIVE IT TO ANOTHER PERSON, LIKELY ONE OF ELIZABETH'S ANCESTORS. SHE WAS SO INFURIATED BY THIS THAT SHE WENT TO THE DESERT OF DESPAIR, PLOTTING HER REVENGE. UNFORTUNATELY, SHE GOT TRAPPED IN A CAVE NEVER TO RETURN. BUT NOW SHE APPARENTLY GOT FREE AND IS HERE TO RECLAIM THE POWERS.

"How," asked Rocky.

LENA WILL WANT TO FIGHT THE SILVER RANGER. WHOEVER WINS WILL HAVE THE POWER.

"That seems too easy," said Tanya.

LENA IS VERY POWERFUL EVEN WITHOUT HER POWERS. LIZ, YOU MUST LEARN HOW TO USE YOUR POWERS TO THEIR FULLEST EXTENT IF YOU EVER HOPE TO DEFEAT HER.

"That's right Zordon." The rangers turned to see a cat. Her features were of a Siamese, coloring of a cheetah, and spots of a jaguar. Three little cats were scattered around her. One was Siamese, another was Angora, and the last was just a plain tabby. Each one looked as strong as a lion though. Lena then spoke, her voice like a hiss. "I am powerful. I want my silver power back and my anger will be taken out on you."

"Yeah right!" cried Jason. "You'll never get the power!"

"That's what you think." Lena stretched out her paw and a white blast shot forth, hitting everybody except for Liz and Billy. "I want that power. Come to the Desert of Despair in fifteen minutes or else I will destroy Zordon and your friends." With that she disappeared without a trace, leaving the rangers, Alpha, and Zordon trapped in some kind of frozen shield.

"What happened?" Liz asked.

Billy shrugged. "They seem to be frozen. We have to get Adam down here."

"Wait, Billy. Let me. I have a way." Billy stepped out of the way as if to say 'All yours'.

Liz pushed the communication buttons but didn't get a reply. "Adam! Adam, I know you can hear me so answer me, now!" Billy was surprised by the firmness in her voice.

"Liz, just leave me alone okay?" Billy was even more surprised by Adam's answer.

"We have an emergency down here. Just forget about what happened."

"Is Rocky there?"

"Yeah but he's frozen right now."

"Frozen?"

"Yeah." Liz continued to explain to him about Lena and what she had done. After she was done there was a second of silence and Adam teleported in with a flash of green. "So what do we do?"

"You'll have to fight Lena, there is no way around that," said Billy. "But to defeat her you have to learn to use the silver powers to their fullest extent. You have to concentrate."

"What do you mean concentrate?" Adam snorted at this question and Liz gave him a glare that could kill.

"Um... just focus your powers on the fight. "

"I don't think I can."

"Remember your friends. If you think of them you'll know what you're fighting for. Just try your hardest."

* * *

"Ten more minutes and we will destroy the earth," chuckled Lena. "And the silver power will once again be mine."

"What if she does manage to destroy you, mother?" Catalina asked.

"Foolish child. She can't defeat me. No one can."

"But what if she does?"

"She can't." Lena was getting frustrated. Catalina was the youngest and always thought of the impossible.

"Five more minutes," cried Sheba.

Lena squealed with delight. Soon the power would be all hers. "Zordon will be toast and the earth will be mine!"

* * *

"Only five more minutes, Liz. Are you ready?"

"I'll try."

"Okay. I'll teleport you. Remember to concentrate."

"Right." Liz let out a heavy sigh as she was sent to the Desert of Despair in a silver streak.

"So you finally showed up, silver ranger," laughed Lena. "I didn't think you were coming."

"Don't think you're getting this power anytime soon."

"Oh, I'm getting that power." Lena shot a rainbow colored blast at Liz, just missing her by an inch. While Liz was still in shock, Sheba snuck up behind her and hitch-kicked her. Angora followed with a low leg sweep, knocking her to the ground. Liz quickly rolled over, avoiding another rainbow blast from Lena.

"Ha ranger. I thought you were tough? You can't expect to keep the powers if you keep this up."

"You'll never win Lena. I won't let you." Liz managed to huff. She was tired and things didn't look on her side. She slowly got up.

Catalina quickly kicked her and Sheba followed with a punch to her shoulder and Angora did another leg sweep. Once again on the ground, Liz felt helpless. _How can I fight these four? I can barely beat Adam. Or Rocky. Definitely not Tommy or Jason. Tommy, Jason, Rocky, Adam, Kat, and Tanya._ The names stuck in her head. Her friends....

"Just give it up silver ranger. Give me the power and your friends will live." Lena slowly walked forward, her hand out.

Liz concentrated on her friends as hard as she could. "You'll never hurt me or my friends." She closed her eyes and crossed her wrists. A silver streak shot out at Lena, causing her to double over. Liz fell down from the power of the energy and couldn't see what had happened to Lena.

"Mother, mother are you okay?" cried the three kittens at once. Liz slowly got up, hoping no one noticed her. To her horror though, she saw Lena get up.

"I am fine." She turned to Liz. "So you finally learned how to use the powers properly. I am impressed."

Liz was stunned. She had put her whole heart into that blast. She had concentrated on everyone. Everyone except for Adam. She realized that if Lena would ever be destroyed that she really had to think of everyone. Including Adam.

* * *

"She's not concentrating," said Billy in a worried voice. He and Adam had monitored the whole battle so far and Liz hadn't even dented Lena's energy.

Adam looked over some statistics but didn't pay attention. He was worried about her. She may like Rocky more than him, he didn't mind that. She should have told him though. He just wanted her to be happy. Him being angry was just covering up how hurt he was. He'd done that since sixth grade. He wanted her to be happy, but he didn't want to lose her.

* * *

"Now for your defeat ranger." Liz only had one more chance. No matter how mad she was at Adam, she still loved him even if he didn't love her.

Liz slowly got to her feet. Lena was laughing her head off, not paying attention to what Liz was doing. Liz quickly put her wrists into form and slowly concentrated. After a moment, she crossed them, sending out a powerful silver blast of energy straight at Lena. It was so powerful that it sent Liz flying to the ground. And to Lena, Liz couldn't tell. A mystical white fog had grown around where she was.

"Mother!" cried Sheba. No answer. The three rushed to their mothers side.

* * *

"Did it work?" asked Adam. Billy shrugged back. Suddenly a crackling noise, like ice melting, was heard by both of them. The two turned to see that the ice shield was melting from around the rangers.

"Guys!" cried the two.

"Wha... what happened?" asked Kat. The others nodded in agreement.

"Uh...." Billy started but was soon interrupted by a loud voice.

RANGERS, cried Zordon. LENA HAD SOMEHOW TRAPPED YOU IN A TIME WARP. IT WAS DESTROYED WHEN LENA LEFT.

"So she's destroyed?" asked Jason.

NO. SHE HAS LEFT THE EARTH HOPEFULLY NEVER TO RETURN. SHE TOOK A VIOLENT BLOW THAT HAS SERIOUSLY DISABLED HER.

"But where's Liz?" Rocky asked and Adam gave him a harsh glare.

"Right here," came a familiar voice. The rangers turned to see Liz, her face gleaming with pride in herself. "I guess I did it."

"You sure did," said Kat. The others all congratulated her. Even Adam. Well, a little bit. He didn't want the others to suspect that they were in a fight. He knew they would find out eventually, but he didn't like the sympathy from the others. Suddenly he had a thought. "What happened to King Mondo?"

LENA DISMANTLED MONDO, explained Zordon. HE HAS FALLEN NEVER TO RETURN. RITA AND ZEDD HAVE FLED LIKE BEFORE. WITH LENA, MONDO, AND RITA AND ZEDD GONE THE POWER RANGERS ARE UNNEEDED.

"You mean the power rangers are gone?" asked Tommy a bit alarmed.

NO. LENA IS GONE BUT NOT DESTROYED. THERE IS A CHANCE THAT SHE MAY COME BACK. BUT AT THIS POINT THE POWER RANGERS ARE NO MORE. WE HAVE WON. BUT IN CASE LENA DOES COME BACK, BILLY YOU STILL MUST WEAR YOUR COMMUNICATOR. YOU MAY GO ON WITH YOUR LIVES THE WAY THEY WERE BEFORE YOU WERE RANGERS.

"We're normal again guys," whispered Jason. "I never thought it would happen, but we won the fight."

"And we're graduating next week," added Tommy.

"Just in time I guess," said Billy.

"No matter what though," said Jason, "we'll always be...." The group put their hands together.

"POWER RANGERS!"

End...?
